Master of Ceremonies : Janet Stewart

Janet brings 15 years of journalistic experience to CBC News at Six. She has been hosting our supper hour newscast since 2007. Janet is well respected for her contributions to the community. After moving here from her native Nova Scotia more than eight years ago, Janet has immersed herself in the city and is proud to call Winnipeg home. Janet has made connecting with the community one of her top priorities, lending her time and energy to many organizations. When she’s not at work writing and delivering news that matters most to you, Janet likes to spend her time gardening or playing with her spoiled-rotten pug, Albert.

Entertainment provided by Armadillo String Quartet of Canada

Since 1989 the Quartet has been performing for many private functions: weddings, receptions, parties and corporate events in Winnipeg , Vancouver, Victoria, Montreal and Toronto. In 1993 the quartet began performing on board luxury cruise ships and we have since entertained audiences world-wide with our eclectic mixture of musical styles.

The group consists of two violins, one viola and one cello, yet what sets us apart from all other string quartets is our vast and eclectic repertoire, which has been the hallmark of our success. From the traditional classics to the groove of the Chattanooga Choo Choo, 'The Beatles', American jazz standards, country fiddle and Broadway show tunes… we satisfy every musical taste!

We look forward to performing for your guests!
